You have to know some key safety points about the Ready Board
Many people may not know the key safety points about the Ready Board. The following Ready Board manufacturers will introduce them to you.
First, let's introduce the purpose of the Ready Board, which is convenient for stopping and transmitting power, and plays the role of measuring and judging stopping and transmitting power, which is convenient for management.
Almost every household Ready Board will have a leakage switch. Its appearance is very similar to that of ordinary air switch, which may not be so easy to be noticed
Leakage switch, as the name suggests, is to provide protection for us in case of leakage. The way of protection is to cut off the power supply (trip) - there are two purposes of cutting off the power supply:
1. Cut off the power supply before people get an electric shock to prevent it from happening;
2. Cut off the power supply after electric shock to reduce the time and harm of electric shock.
How does it know if there is leakage in the line? The answer is by comparing the current on the zero line and the live line. Normally, the current on the zero line is the same as that on the live line. When leakage occurs, it proves that a new circuit is generated, which will inevitably lead to different currents on the two lines - so the leakage switch trips.
What is a ground wire
The function of ground wire is very similar to that of leakage switch. It is a safety device to prevent users from electric shock. The purpose is the same, but the principle is completely different.
Earth wire leakage prevention is to connect the electrical shell and the earth with a wire. When the electrical enclosure is charged, the ground wire will lead the current to the earth for the first time, so as to prevent the user from electric shock.
Therefore, the functional difference between ground wire and leakage switch comes out:
1. When the ground wire works, it will not affect the normal use of the line and will provide protection silently;
2. The protection scope of the ground wire is smaller, which can only prevent the user from getting an electric shock by contacting the electrical shell (the user extends his finger into the socket, the leakage switch can provide protection, but the ground wire cannot).
Will the leakage switch trip without ground wire
Let's turn to the front paragraph and look at the purpose of cutting off the power supply by the leakage switch——
1. Cut off the power supply before people get an electric shock to prevent it from happening; 2. Cut off the power supply after electric shock to reduce the time and harm of electric shock.
First, look at the second point. People will generate leakage current after electric shock, so they are detected by the leakage switch and then trip to reduce the time. This one has nothing to do with the ground wire, so whether there is a ground wire or not, the leakage switch can normally provide this protection function.
Look at the first point, "cut off the power before people get an electric shock". How does this work? This will make use of the ground wire——
When the electrical enclosure is charged, the ground wire will lead the current to the earth for the first time, so as to prevent the user from electric shock.
"Lead the current to the earth" produces leakage current. This part of the current is detected by the leakage switch, which can cause the leakage switch to trip. Therefore, if there is no ground wire, this part of the function of the leakage switch will fail.
