Terminal Block Current Load Capacity Description!
Similar to the commonly understood over-current protection capability - a protection method that causes the protection device to act when the current exceeds a predetermined maximum value. The over-current protection is that when the current flowing through the protected element exceeds a preset value, the protection device starts and ensures the selectivity of action with time limit to trip the circuit breaker or give an alarm signal. The current load capacity of the terminal is realized by the resistance of its own conductive parts.
Each terminal has its own current level. When the current passing through the terminal exceeds the load of PCB terminal, the terminal will fail and cause short circuit. The current load capacity of printed circuit board terminals and connectors depends on several technical parameters. In order to achieve the required load capacity, a variety of requirements need to be met:
1、 Product structure
The more stable the product structure, the stronger the terminal current load capacity.
2、 Materials used
The thickness, width and other parameters of the conductive parts of the terminal block should meet the requirements of current products; the selection of insulation materials is also related to the current load capacity. The slower the aging speed of insulation material is, the stronger the current load capacity of the terminal is.
3、 Number of adjacent digits side by side
The number of wiring terminal blocks shall meet the installation requirements. For plug-in terminals, the plug and socket shall be corresponding. In addition to consulting the manufacturer, products with different pin spacing shall not be used to match without authorization, so as to avoid damage to the equipment.
4、 Ambient temperature
The higher the ambient temperature, the weaker the current load capacity. This is why in order to ensure the good operation of the equipment, electrical equipment needs a good cooling environment.
The current load capacity is one of the specification parameters of the terminal block, which means that under normal conditions, when there is current passing through the adjacent 5-bit terminals at the same time, it will not damage the components due to heating and will not affect the function of the components.
