Six Aspects to Be Noticed in the Use of Voltage Regulators

Voltage regulator circuit is an important part of electronic system. It provides DC bias for electronic system and suitable static working point for active devices in electronic system. The performance of DC power supply directly affects the performance of the whole electronic system.

Six aspects should be paid attention to when using voltage regulators:

    1. When the load equipment is short-circuit, the user needs to shut down and check it. After eliminating the short-circuit fault, the user can start it up separately.

    2. When the continuous working time is longer, the machine has a certain temperature rise, and its indication value will drop slightly, which is slightly lower than the actual voltage value.

    3. It should be placed in a well-ventilated place. If the ventilation conditions are poor, please install ventilation in the room.

    4. In order to prevent magnetic leakage interference, the distance between the regulator and the equipment should not be less than 2 meters. All kinds of magnetic records, discs, cards and so on should be far away from the machine 2 meters in order to prevent accidental magnetization.

    5. Regulators generally include input terminals (A, B, C), output terminals (a, b, c, n), shielding, and core shell earthing terminals. These terminals are correctly connected in the voltage stabilization system.

    6. When the unbalance of load exceeds 20%, a resistive load is connected in parallel with the light load to balance it. Similarly, if the unbalance of line voltage at the input end is greater than 10%, it will also affect the voltage stabilization performance of the unit. At this time, a single-phase voltage regulator should be installed at the input end to make the line voltage at the input end basically balanced. The balance of input voltage and load does not exceed the above range, and the unbalance of output line voltage is less than 5%.
