1. Concept of meter box:

A total circuit distribution box for all users

2. Working principle

Plastic meter box is used to assemble switchgear, measuring instruments, protective appliances and auxiliary equipment in enclosed or semi enclosed metal cabinets or panels according to electrical wiring requirements to form low-voltage power distribution devices. During normal operation, the circuit can be switched on or off with the help of manual or automatic switches.

In case of failure or abnormal operation, cut off the circuit or give an alarm with the help of protective appliances. Various parameters in operation can be displayed by measuring instruments, and some electrical parameters can be adjusted to prompt or signal deviation from the normal working state. It is commonly used in power generation, distribution and substation.

3. Main purpose

It is convenient for management and maintenance in case of circuit failure. Moreover, it is convenient for power cut and transmission, and plays the role of measuring and judging power cut and transmission.

The meter box, distribution cabinet, switchboard, power distribution certificate, etc. are complete sets of devices for centralized installation of switches, instruments, etc.

4. Classification

4.1 According to the quantity and specification of installed electric energy meters, they are divided into five categories: single-phase single meter metering box, three-phase single meter metering box, multi meter single-phase electric energy meter metering box, multi meter three-phase electric energy meter metering box and transformer type metering box.

4.2 It is divided into metal measuring box and plastic measuring box according to the manufacturing materials.

4.3 According to the installation environment, it can be divided into indoor and outdoor metering boxes.

4.4 According to the installation method, the installation structure of the metering box is: suspended, embedded, floor mounted and pole mounted.
